Keep those toes warm
Posted on January 28 2018
It's a question we often hear, and it's a good one.
"What are your warmest socks?"
I mean, who wants cold toes? Not us!
All of our socks will keep your feet warm, but some are warmer than others. There's just a difference between wanting to keep your feet warm in an office and while you're enjoying the great outdoors.
Two of our alpaca socks are 80% alpaca, and the warmest we carry and have been able to find. Don't worry, we're going to tell you all about them.
First, our Royan Socks.
These socks are made of 80% alpaca fiber, so you know they are going to be extremely soft and warm. They also come in the most beautiful, vibrant colors. The yarn is hand painted, and the paint is all natural, made from the juices of fruits and vegetables. How cool is that?
Second, our Hunter Socks.
Our Hunter Socks are equally as warm and soft as they're also made from 80% alpaca fiber. But if you'd rather have natural colors than hand painted, these socks are for you.
Both socks are machine washable in cold, but keep them out of the dryer to prevent shrinkage. We know it sounds gross, but alpaca fiber wicks away sweat and odor, so you can wear your socks about 12 times before they need to be washed. We promise!
So, why should you care? Maybe you don't! And there's nothing wrong with that. But if you're looking for some soft, thick socks that will keep your feet incredibly warm whether you're skiing, hunting, or just trying to warm up at home, these socks are our best recommendation.
P.S. Want to know a little bit more about alpaca fiber? We've got your back:
- Alpaca fiber is warmer than wool, softer than cashmere, but it doesn't itch (it doesn't contain lanolin like wool!)
- Each strand of fiber is filled with hollow pockets of air, so it insulates extremely well and keeps the products lightweight
- You can't be allergic to alpaca fiber
- This doesn't really have anything to do with their fiber, BUT alpacas are extremely cute!
